Open Exhibition

Peterborough Gallery runs an open exhibition every year. I always miss the deadline. This year, I’m going to make it. Submission opened yesterday and continues over the weekend. My work is packaged up and ready to go. I did a painting, collage and neckpiece (which I finished late last night).

Group

I made this necklace, painting and drawing to go together. The painting and drawing informing the colours and structures in the necklace. Long way from finished but getting there.

Sea Urchins

My love affair with sea urchins continues, I love the colours, textures and form. They seem too delicate and colourful to originate in the North Sea.

Flint Necklace

The more I look at this necklace the more I feel like it’s not over. I need to go back and get into it again. I think it needs a dark thread to pull it all together and the cluster of gun metal urchins has to go to make way for more pink and red urchins. It’s also crying out for a crusting of pearls.

I need to resume scouring the charity shops for strings of pearls.
